Duncan Knob

This was a Mountain Club of Maryland sanctioned hike. We expected the rivers to be dry, so we arranged for a water cache down at the intersection of Gap Creek Trail and Crisman Hollow Rd. The river there had plenty of water due to the rain just the night before. It was nice not having to filter water, though. The leaves at the higher elevations were showing beautiful colors. The hike went off without incident. The crowd was lively and loud. Participants were Ron & Heather, Rachel & Aaron, Virgil, Pat, Adam, Karen, and myself. No pugs this time. We had some first-time backpackers who did very well - Virgil, Karen, & Adam. The brownie birthday cake we shared after dinner Saturday night was excellent. Happy Birthday, Rachel & Karen! We finished the hike on Sunday with a strenuous climb and fried chicken at the Southern Kitchen. Pleasant weather, pleasant company, good times. I wish fall lasted all year.

Disclaimer: my camera has been taking some blurry pictures (lens dirty/scratched, I don't know), I'm going to be getting a new one soon.
