Birch Run Shelter - Quarry Gap Backpack

This was a MCM and ODC sanctioned hike. We did a combination of these two routes, as provided by Mike J's awesome site: Rocky Knob-Quarry Gap and Caledonia SP-Quarry Gap loop. The trail notes and maps were very helpful and very accurate - thanks a ton, Mike, for maintaining such a great resource.

6 of us (and 2 pugs) met at Macys at 8am - Rachel & Aaron, Marge, Kate, Howard, Jada, Kisses, and myself. Tuna met us at the trail head at Caledonia. Keith and Ellen met us at Birch Run shelter that afternoon. The weather was absolutely beautiful, we had a great time. The night at the shelter was lively, we made some new friends. We discussed all sorts of topics, most of which I won't repeat here. We had one minor first aid incident when Howard was attacked by a rabid squirrel. (see pictures). My new Dyna

Some of you haven't seen the new bike yet. It's a 2007 Harley Davidson Dyna Superglide Custom. 1584cc. It weights 645 lbs dry. It rides so smooth. I love this bike. Bought it Aug 6 from Old Glory Harley Davidson in Laurel.
